ESY India to market Pinnacle’s POS systems: Business Standard

Taiwan-based Pinnacle Technology Corporation, world’s largest Point Of Sale (POS) printers and solution devices manufacturer, has collaborated with ESY India for marketing their high-speed systems in India.

A POS system/printer includes a cash register, which in recent times comprises a computer, monitor, cash drawer, receipt printer, customer display and a barcode scanner.

Pinnacle Corporation’s joint venture with ESY India, a leading printing ink manufacturer, would soon see launch of two models of high-end ESY Aclas POS Printers with 150 mm and 250 mm speed.

“We are very glad to associate with ESY India for selling and servicing our wide range of products. Being one of the largest Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) companies in the world, Pinnacle products have been around in the country marketed by other brands for more than two decades,” Bob Nue, chairman and managing director of Pinnacle Corporation, said on Friday.

“This is the first time Pinnacle is launching their products under their own brand – Aclas. We are confident that the ESY India leadership will definitely take Aclas products to leadership position in Indian POS market,” he added.

The two soon-to-be-launched models of printers come with unique auto paper cutters placed on the upper cover.

Due to this unique feature, the printers minimise the paper jams and makes paper loading or clearing paper jams if any, convenient. The patented Oblique Paper Sensor senses the paper quickly so that the printer can be fixed easily.

The models have built-in serial and USB port and an option for customer display unit and cash drawers. The printers also comes with ethernet, Wi-fi and bluetooth connectivity options.

Meanwhile, ESY Aclas will be launching ARM and Android-based ‘fiscal printers’ and cloud services soon.

A ‘fiscal printer’ is a receipt printer with fiscal memory devices – the electronic devices generally used for control of a country’s tax revenues.

“The Indian POS market is growing fast. Thermal printers are in high demand with current volumes of approx 130K units,” V.P. Sajeevan, CEO, ESY India, said.

Thermal printers are printers that do not require an ink cartridge, have high printing speed and low level of noise.

“Presently, the market is dominated by few big brands. However, with the superior quality and features of ESY Aclas products, we are confident of garnering 15 percent market share before second half of 2016,” he added.
